Why it sticks
Most blockers get switched off. Onus is built to stay on.
A wall you can't bargain with only lasts until you need one thing behind it.
A normal blocker
- Blocks everything, all day.
- You need one video for work, and hit the wall.
- You pause it "just for now", then turn it off.
Back to square one
Onus
- Nothing is banned. It costs minutes.
- Your work pays for your breaks, and you pick how long.
- There's no wall to fight, so nothing to turn off.
Nothing to switch off
Three ways to get Onus
Seal your browser, your whole PC, or your phone.
The same rule everywhere: play is earned. One Onus account signs you in to all three.
In your browser
Seals sites like YouTube, Reddit and X. Time on your work sites fills the bank.
- Holds through new tabs, links and other addresses like twitter.com
- Every 25 minutes on work sites buys 10 back
- Your browsing stays on your computer
Sign in by 16 November and the full Onus is yours for good.
On your whole PC
Onus for Windows seals apps too: Discord, Steam, games and other browsers. Time in work apps like VS Code, Word and Figma earns minutes.
- Seals Discord, Steam, games and other browsers
- Work apps earn minutes, just like work sites
- Keeps running as a Windows service
Included with the yearly and lifetime plans, and with every account made by 16 November.
Onus for Windows isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway.
On your phone
Onus for Android seals apps like Instagram and TikTok. They open only after you earn them with push-ups, steps or time face down.
- Push-ups counted by the front camera, no picture kept
- Or walk 500 steps, or 5 minutes face down
- Phone, Messages and emergency calls always work
Onus Pro for Android: $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month. Not on iPhone yet.

How it works
Three steps, and then it just counts.
There's no session to start and no timer to remember. Onus sees which tab is in front and keeps the books.
Seal what distracts you
YouTube, Reddit, X, whatever pulls you away. The seal holds through back buttons, new tabs, links and other addresses like twitter.com.
Work fills the bank
Time on your work sites earns play: 25 minutes buys 10, up to 2 hours saved. It only counts while you're actually there.
Choose, every time
Open a sealed site and Onus asks: spend 5, 10 or 15 minutes, or close the tab and keep them. When time's up, the seal closes again.

Setup, before you install
Seal what pulls you away. Bank what you work on.
Pick your sites here, and Onus starts with them when you install it. There's no session to start. Onus just counts.
Start from a set
Sealed: costs play
Removing a sealed site later takes 10 minutes, so a seal is never undone on impulse.
Work: fills your bank
Missed one? After 10 minutes on a site that's on neither list, Onus asks once: count this as work?
Install Onus while this tab is open, and it starts with these sites. You can change them any time in its Settings.
Onus has your sites. Finish setting it up in the tab it opened.
Free while we launch: sign in by 16 November and the full Onus is yours for good.
Everything else
Built so the seal holds, and stays fair.
Go to work
Working away from the screen? Start a timer, and when it ends say you worked. Up to 2 hours a day counts.
Play pauses when you leave
Switch tabs or step away and the clock stops. You only pay for what you watch.
Sealed hours
Keep sealed sites shut at set times, whatever your bank holds.
No undoing on impulse
Removing a sealed site takes 10 minutes. An exit code you set opens everything until midnight.
Feed-only YouTube
Search and video links stay open. The feed and Shorts cost bank time.
Emergency minutes
5 minutes a day for real emergencies. They never touch the bank.

Questions
Before you install
Is Onus a website or an extension?
Onus is a browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and an app for Windows. Only an extension or an app can seal things and count your work time. This site is where you learn about it, pick your sites and get it.
What does Onus see?
Your site lists, bank and browsing stay in your browser. Onus sends a random install code, to check your plan, and the email you sign in with. Nothing about your browsing is linked to your account. Read the privacy policy.
What if I really need a sealed site?
Use your 5 emergency minutes, which never touch the bank. If you truly need out, the exit code you set opens everything until midnight.
Does it block apps or other browsers?
The extension doesn't: it seals sites in the Chrome or Edge it's installed in. Onus for Windows seals apps like Discord and Steam and other browsers too, and time in your work apps earns minutes. It needs Windows 10 or 11 and comes with the yearly and lifetime plans and with founder accounts.
Does it work on my phone?
On Android, yes: get Onus for Android. It seals apps like Instagram and TikTok until you earn them with push-ups, steps or time face down. Onus Pro for Android is $29.99 a year or $4.99 a month. Not on iPhone yet.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel from the link in your Paddle receipt. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any payment. See the refund policy.
